22 Saints Club Athletes began their in-season 5-month team training at Athlete's Nation last week. The training is subsidized by the St. Albert Volleyball Association and filled up in a few days. We hope to run two groups next year and encourage all our athletes to continue with Athlete's Nation into their off-season 1SQ program after the volleyball season ends. Athlete's Nation is a great local facility.

2012 ST. ALBERT SAINTS CLUB VOLLEYBALL

Tryouts have ended and all club teams representing St. Albert in the 2012 Club Season have been formed. On the Women's side, we have two teams at U13 and U14 and one team from U15-U18. On the Men's side, there is one U16 team. If you have any questions, please email us and we will redirect the email to your coach or manager.

TRI-IRON FITNESS VOLLEYBALL CAMP AT VJM
Coach Damon Clayton has teamed up with elite athlete Emmy Blouin to offer a local camp for high school athletes (1994-1996) preparing for the upcoming school season. Damon is a long-time coach at VJM and personal trainer and Emmy, a graduate of Paul Kane, is back for the summer break after playing professional volleyball in Europe for several years. Top level coaching and individualized fitness instruction. I'd sign up quick or miss out.

OUR CLUB SEASON WRAPS WITH U15 WIN IN BC
Congratulations to Damon's U15 Saints team. His team was our last to play in the 2011 club season finishing with a gold medal on June 12th in the Green Bracket at the Pan-Pacific Tournament in Richmond, BC. Both U15 and U16 also participated in the Western Nationals in Calgary on the May long-weekend.

SKYHAWKS COMBO CAMP (VOLLEYBALL/BASKETBALL)
Joceyln and John are running another combo camp this year at SACHS. Volleyball players know they are getting top volleyball instruction (and a personal trainer) when they attend one of Jocelyn's camps. Send them an email before they're full. The camp is for Jr. High aged athletes. Info will be posted shortly on a Sr. High camp at VJM.

JUNIOR SAINTS VOLLEYBALL GREAT SUCCESS
The St. Albert Volleyball Association junior Saints volleyball program has now ended and was a great success. Initially targeted for 24 participants, the program was full in three days requiring we hire more instructors to accomodate 30. Targeted for elementary school athletes in grade 5 and 6, the junior program was a 10-week fun and instructional program for athletes of any skill level who were interested in learning or advancing fundamental skills taught in school. We hope to see many of the grade 6 participants playing school and club (for us) next year.

With Jocelyn Blair, former member of the University of Alberta Pandas volleyball team, 3-time All-Canadian, 2-time member of Team Canada’s Universiade team

When: Entire month of July (dates: July 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29) Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8pm

The St. Albert Volleyball Association congratulates Erminia Russo on becoming the new head coach of the NAIT Womens Volleyball Team. A local St. Albert resident, Erminia has been helping many of our players reach their potential and NAIT is very fortunate to have Erminia's expertise. Good luck NAIT in the 2010-2011 season!

As the season winds down, congratuations to the 2010 Saints teams for another excellent year of club volleyball. We all enjoyed watching you at the recent provincial and national tournaments in Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary and Abbotsford.

The U16 Saints hosted an Easter Camp with some of the St. Albert and Morinville residents currently playing for the University of Alberta Pandas. Thank you to St. Albert residents Jocelyn Blair, Daryll Roper, Krista Zubick and Morinville resident Samantha Wojtkiw and their teammates Jen Restall and Stacy Robertson for attending our two day clinic in St. Albert.

February 16, 2009: The U16 Saints attended the 2009 Addidas/Northwest Juniors Presidents' Day Tournament in Seattle, Washington. With over 70 teams from all over the USA, the Saints exceeded expectations as they won consolation silver.

The Saints Volleyball Club, Saints Beach League and our camps and clinics are run with the support of the City of St. Albert and are directed by our executive - the St. Albert Volleyball Association.
